A dozen Anchorage Middletown firefighters took to high-rise buildings as a part of a unique training to save lives.
More than 40 firefighters are now certified rope rescue technicians.
"This rigorous course demands unwavering focus, exceptional skill, and extensive knowledge...Trainings like these are vital for our team, ensuring that we are always prepared for any emergency that comes our way," according to a statement on the department's Facebook page.
